A little bit of this, a little bit of that… that’s what you’ll find at Teedaloo. My friend Thyda is an amazing make-up artist and I get all of my beauty and make-up tips from her. I’m still not very good at it (and don’t think I ever will be), but I’ve learned so much her. I not only picked up on techniques on how to apply and use make-up, but I also learned about what products work and don’t work. I seriously have never gone out there and done my own research or even done my own experimentation. I can just count of Thyda, haha. Well, when Thyda moved away to start her married life I no longer had access to her all her knowledge and first hand product reviews. A couple of months ago Thyda started working on a secret project. At first I was guessing she was going to bring her make-up website back, but I was wrong. Her project was even better! When Teedaloo was finally released I was so happy that there was a “beauty” section. If you’re located in southern California and needs a make-up artist definitely check Thyda out. She gets high praises from me based on first hand experiences =).

I’m a little late but I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Mine was great despite feeling a tiny bit like Scrooge this year. I totally wasn’t in the holiday spirits at all. I had all these ideas for custom cards and little gifts I wanted to make. Sadly, it’s been a busy month for me and I ran out of time. I didn’t even have time to go buy a box of holiday cards to send out to family and friends. I felt really sucky everytime someone asked for my address to send us a card or when someone handed over a thoughtful gift no matter how small it was. What finally got me in the holiday spirit was when I decided to host a last minute mini holiday potluck and white elephant gift exchange. I was pretty sure we wouldn’t have a crazy snow storm ruining everyone’s holiday plans this year. It turned out not being that “mini”, but everyone had fun even my poor friends who were allergic to my kitties. One even said it was worth the sacrifice, wow. Anyway, the week leading up to our holiday event this past Saturday I had this idea to have a photobooth. I thought it would be added fun and it was! The next time you throw a party and there’s an empty wall available you should consider creating a backdrop for a fun photobooth. We live in a small condo with high ceilings and we managed. Just tape up some fabrics and ta-dah! It’s that simple. Check us out, hehehe:
Last weekend was a prime example of a perfect Seattle weather weekend. Just perfect for a photoshoot! I found myself test subjects for my first ever practice/shoot with the 40D. Hanh is a coworker of mine who’s getting married this Sunday. Since they had very little time to plan their wedding they were on a time crunch and ran out of time to make a photobook guestbook similar to what I had. I suggested a DIY scrapbook guestbook instead, which of course involves pictures. I come to find that Hanh & Wing didn’t have engagement photos taken yet and they didn’t plan to due to time and budget. I immediately jumped at the opportunity and offered to take pictures for them to use for the guestbook. Another one of my coworkers (who’s a total scrapbook queen) and I are having a scrapbook party tomorrow at the couple’s home to put together the pages of the guestbook. Yea, talk about last minute. It should be fun though and I feel honored to be of any help to the bride and groom! Been there, done that, and I know any help they can get will be appreciated.
